Poverty is a problem that out country always faces. A problem that seems to be an unbreakable obstacle. Hunger, malnutrition, the informal settlers - those are signs that our country needs much more attention to combat poverty. But if the government is making action, we also have to act too.
It all starts within ourselves. There are some people that have faced poverty, but succeeded in life. One of them is the famous Filipino boxer, Manny Pacquiao. Even when he was under aged and didn’t proceed in high school, he have to work as a worker in pier only for his family. Another is Henry Sy. Before he was just a shoemaker and sells it to others, but when he got succeeded, he owns one of the malls named as SM. According to Forbes Magazine, he is one of the richest man in the present day. Another is Allein Maliksi, one of the most improved and young player in PBA. When he was young, they only live as informal settlers. They live in a house made of wood, and also built in the side of the road. But because of his perseverance he got scholarships and went to University of Manila and transferred to University of Santo Tomas in his college days. Now he is a member of the Philippine National Team in basketball. Even though they experienced so much problems, they faced it all without thinking how hard they are doing it, how poor they are, or even how hard their lives were.
What I want to say is that, it's not the poverty itself is the problem. The problem is within us. If only we have a positive mind and a hardworking attitude, we won’t think about poverty. Unlike those drug pushers/users, snatchers and others that have negative minds and already got soaked into the evilness of this world. It isn’t right to make a profit by doing bad things. Even if you are just a garbage collector, it has to be right even if it is really hard. At least, we are right in the eye of God. Poverty itself is just an obstacle in our life. Maybe not only for our life but also for the country. It must made me think that if you are born poor, then you are lucky. Because they face more problems, which can only makes them stronger as a human if they would have a good sense in life. As Bill Gates once said “If you were born poor, it’s not your fault, but if you died poor, then it’s your fault.” See? It is already within ourselves. We have to pursue for our goals and take every chance that we have. We have to give the best that we can.
Don’t let poverty make you give up of your life or make you as a bad one. Instead, think positive and make yourself a good man and a good example for everybody. Lets just say that poverty can make you or break you. Remember, it’s not the appearance that makes human a monster. It’s the choices they make.
Thank you and may God bless you all!

TumugonBurahinWow! Very well said it is a wake up call to us. It is a reality. A worldwide problem that we should understand, discuss and fix. Being born as poor was something we cannot change but living & dying as poor was totally unacceptable because we can do better. Something bigger & stronger. So for saying we should end poverty, I totally agree with you! Thanks for sharing your thoughts and spreading the awareness.

TumugonBurahinPoverty is a already there. It does exist and it's one of the social problems that we, Filipinos need to face. It's just a barrier that we need to surpass. And i do believe in the saying that "If you were born poor, it's not your fault but if you died poor, it's your fault". The choice is in our hands. Well a big hand for youuu ☺
